Duck River Dance
OUR STORY
Founded in 2015 under the direction of Danelle Afflerbaugh, Duck River Dance strives to develop the versatile dancer offering a variety of dance classes with an emphasis on ballet training. A family owned business, DRD is known for its tasteful and age-appropriate choices in music, costuming and movement. Since its inception, Duck River Dance has produced 13 annual end of year productions (including the story ballets, "Sleeping Beauty", "Peter and the Wolf" and "The Planets"), and 5 Nutcracker Ballet productions. DRD is not a competition studio. Our goal is to develop technically strong dancers with a focus on artistry and performance. Our performance group, DRD Company, is a team of dancers who perform throughout the year at community event as well as traveling to participate in master classes and dance intensives with industry professionals.
Duck River Dance has quickly become a fixture in the Coffee County arts community. DRD instructors create choreography for many local schools, youth camps and community productions. Artistic Director Danelle Afflerbaugh is the Vice Chairman on the board of directors for the Manchester Arts Center, as well as being on the board of Millennium Repertory Company. Mrs. Danelle's choreography for MRC's Newsies was awarded the 2019 Broadway World regional award for best choreography.
Duck River Dance has brought The Nutcracker Ballet to the stage in Manchester in 2016, 2017, 2019, 2022, 2023.
We strongly believe that everyone is a dancer.
