Artistic Director Danelle Afflerbaugh has more than three decades of dance experience. Over the years she has studied tap, jazz, hip-hop, cheer and ballroom, but focused in ballet. Danelle studied under Melinda Shaner in Southern California as well as Paul Maure, former dancer with the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo. Over the years she has performed various roles, including the Snow Queen, Magical Doll and Russian Trepek in The Nutcracker Ballet; the Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland, the Emerald Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty Ballet, the ballet corps in her studio’s production of Swan Lake, and Chava in Fiddler on the Roof. In addition, during her eleven year tenure as the Head Cheerleading Coach at the University of Redlands, her teams competeted and earned rankings in regional
and national competitions.
Mrs. Danelle has quickly become a fixture in the Manchester arts community. She has choreographed for the MRC productions of Catch Me If You Can, Singin' in the Rain, Chicago, Guys & Dolls, My Fair Lady and more. Danelle's choreography for MRC's Newsies was recently awarded the Broadway World regional award for best choreography. She is currently in rehearsal as the director/choreographer for the MRC production of Evita. In addition, Danelle has also coached and choreographed for participants in the Annual Dancing with the Coffee County Stars.
Danelle and Duck River Dance has brought The Nutcracker Ballet to the stage in Manchester in 2016, 2017, 2019.
