What if a class gets cancelled due to severe weather?
The DRD severe weather policy is to follow the Manchester City Schools closures.
If City Schools are closed due to weather, DRD will close due to weather.
Classes cancelled due to weather will be offered make-up classes, if available, but students will not be prorated.

What if a class gets cancelled due to instructor illness?
We will make every effort to have another instructor or student teacher cover a class when an instructor is sick. If no replacement instructor can be arranged, and the class must be cancelled, dancers will be offered a make-up class. If it is not possible for the instructor to schedule a make-up class, dancers will receive a credit for the missed class.

The class I want is full. What do I do?
When a student wants to register for a class that is full we will add them to a wait list. You will be notified if a space opens in your desired class.
What if I miss a class?
If you miss a class for any reason, you are welcome to attend any class of equal or lower skill level to make-up, with instructor approval. DRD does not credit for a student missed class.

If I miss several weeks of classes, do I still owe tuition?
Once you are registered for classes you are responsible for payment, whether you attend or not. However, if you know of and inform us of an extended leave (pregnancy, travel, etc.) we can place you on a "hold" which will secure your place in the class until you return, without payment being due during your leave. If you do not give DRD prior warning of your leave, you will be responsible for the tuition.

Do you do end of year performances?
Yes, every year our dancers will perform in two end of year recitals which will take place in late May/early June. Our ballet students perform in the first recital. Students in all of the other styles of dance perform in the second recital. Recitals are not mandatory, but we do encourage dancers to participate. Dance is a performance art, and it is important for dancers to understand how what they are learning in the studio translates to the stage. Plus, they're so much fun!
DRD also presents a Christmas show each year. We alternate between The Nutcracker Ballet and our Christmas Spectacular. These shows are NOT a part of regular classes. Dancers must audition to be cast, and rehearsals take place outside of classes.
Will I receive a refund if I register for classes and then have to drop?
Our registration fee is non-refundable. But, it is good for one dance season. If you have to drop, the registration fee will still hold your place in class, should you wish to return later in the same dance season. Tuition is also non-refundable, but you are welcome to take make-up classes. See above.
If I register and pay for a master class/workshop/camp then have to cancel, can I receive a refund?
Unless the event is listed as "non-refundable", you will receive a refund less a 10% processing fee within 10 working days.
